Loans for everyone

Anyone in receipt of benefits knows how hard it is to get help with a loan from most lenders – apart from loan sharks or door-to-door lenders who charge exorbitant interest.
Southwark Credit Union is able to offer safe low cost loans to their members who are on benefits. Benefits can be paid into the Credit Union, they will deduct the agreed loan repayment plus a small amount for savings, and you can withdraw the rest.

Young Saver Account (YSA)

Thanks for the generosity of Borough & Bankside and Walworth Neighbourhood Renewal programme the credit union is able to run the YSA project for yet another year.

Southwark Credit Union (SCU) aims to serve the whole community including children and young people. The YSA project gives children the experience of money matters, budgeting, saving and handling cash. They are actively involved and can gain experience in Mathematics and I.T in conjunction with the National Curriculum.
